Imbolc, also known as Brigid's day or Candlemas, is a day to celebrate the lengthening days and the coming return of spring. It is to have been linked to the breeding cycle of sheep and the beginning of lactation. In some pagan traditions this takes the form of the Goddess nursing the young God and rearing him through childhood. Brigid is known for fertility as the goddess of childbirth, healing and inspiration.
The colors of white, silver and green are perfect for this day. Herbs include blackberry, coltsfoot and ginger. Have fun celebrating the turning of the wheel and the coming of spring by creating your own Brigid's cross or eating ewe's milk cheese.
